Take a Kid Hunting Youth Upland Bird Hunting Day November 5

October 6, 2005

On Saturday, November 5, young hunters (aged 10 through 15 with a valid youth hunting license under the direct supervision of a licensed, non-hunting adult age 21 or older) can hunt pheasant, quail and/or chukar partridge on licensed semi-wild preserves throughout the state. This is a great opportunity for someone who belongs to a semi-wild preserve to introduce a young hunter to upland bird hunting.

Hunting hours are 8 a.m. to sunset. Harvested birds must be properly tagged before transport.

The Take A Kid Hunting Program provides an excellent opportunity for young hunters to enjoy a relaxed day afield, and reinforces the importance of being a safe and responsible hunter. Participants are able to interact with more experienced hunters and mentors, learning valuable skills and ethics.
