The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is advising hunters and trappers of printing errors in the 2015 NJ Hunting and Trapping Digest. The errors are in the print edition only; the PDF version available on this website and the Publisher's eRegs version have been corrected.
The errors in the print version are:
Page 12: Special Coyote, Red and Gray Fox Hunting Permits: The year "2015" should be "2016" in the second bullet point.
Page 27: Wanton Waste of Game: Squirrel should NOT be included in the species listed as exempt from the Wanton Waste regulation.
Pages 60 and 63: Coyote and Fox, General and Special Permit Seasons: Hunters CANNOT report harvests via the Automated Harvest Report System. The AHRS will not allow reporting at this time. Successful hunters must report any coyote harvested to a Fish and Wildlife Regional Law Enforcement Office within 24 hours. Callers must identify themselves by name, CID# and daytime phone number.
Page 66, Trapping Regulations, second bullet: Text should read: All traps set or used must bear a legible tag of durable material with the name and address of the person setting, using and maintaining the traps. Trap tags with Fish and Wildlife-issued trap identification number or the trapper's Conservation Identification Number (CID#) may be used in lieu of name and address to mark each trap.
Page 66, Trapping Regulations, eigth bullet: Trappers, including farmers, CANNOT report harvests via the Automated Harvest Report System. The AHRS will not allow reporting at this time. Successful trappers must report any coyote harvested to a Fish and Wildlife Regional Law Enforcement Office within 24 hours. Callers must identify themselves by name, CID# and daytime phone number.
Page 70, Dog Training: The prohibition of exercising or training of dogs on any WMA the Friday before the opening day of the regular Small Game Season (Nov. 7 in 2015) has been rescinded.
We regret any confusion or inconvenience the errors may have caused.
