Volunteers assist at Pequest in the following ways: fishing instruction and visitor services, trail maintenance, bird house maintenance, gardening, teaching programs, etc.
Volunteers may develop and present programs for the public based upon their interests and the approval of the education staff or assist staff with current program needs.
All volunteers are members of the NJ Wildlife Conservation Corps (WCC). The WCC, with more than 1700 members, is the largest natural resource management volunteer group in the state. WCC members are involved in all phases of Division activities from wildlife research to fishing education. Every year, volunteers contribute services valued at more than $1,000,000.
Anyone 18 years of age and older is welcome to join the Division of Fish and Wildlife as a volunteer. If interested, complete and mail an application form (pdf, 825kb), or e-mail questions to e-mail the program coordinator.
