This data represents the stations on non-tidal rivers where sampling data was collected for benthic macroinvertebrates and reported in the 2004 Integrated Report. The networks include NJDEP/USGS Ambient Biomonitoring Network (AMNET) and Monmouth County Biomonitoring Network.
This data spatially represents the location of sampling stations whose data was used for assessments of aquatic life designated uses in the 2004 Integrated Report.
2004 Integrated Report files retain the same basic content as the 2002 Integrated Report, with small changes in format. Some files were combined to consolidate information. For questions on metadata content, please contact Leigh Lager, NJDEP/BFBM 609-292-0427 or leigh.lager@dep.state.nj.us

NJDEP Ambient Biomonitoring Monitoring Sites for New Jersey
Attributes were checked for accuracy by field staff who collect data.
Points were drawn up with 1:24000 stream shapefiles for the associated county to confirm placement. Base layer was 1:12000 DOQ images.
Complete
Most point locations were created from GPS measurements. However, GPS measurements could not be obtained at many of the actual sampling locations due to terrain and leaf cover blockage. True sampling locations are within 100 yards upstream or downstream of points in this shapefile.

Location of sampling stations
The NJDEP Ambient Biomonitoring Network for New Jersey and the Monmouth County Ambient Biomonitoring Network vector shapefiles were used for the majority of site placement , however, location of a few sites were digitized using GPS coordinates or by USGS Topoquads with the site location. Several sites were moved upstream or downstream to visually differentiate between nearby sites. The sites were intersected with the NJDEP HUC 11 coverage to obtain HUC11, WMA, and Region information for each site.
