Map Description:

The New Jersey Department of Transportation has published a State Transportation Map for over forty years. This year, for the first time, ESRI’s ArcGIS software was used to create the map, instead of the CADD application that was previously used. Using a GIS for the source data provided greater spatial accuracy as well as more up-to-date highway geometries through connections to other NJDOT databases. Features such as the index of towns and mileage chart were created spatially with a resulting increase in precision.
