About i-MapNJ: Internet Mapping in New Jersey
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) GIS Unit
has developed i-MapNJ, an environmental interactive mapping application.
i-MapNJ enables users to view and perform basic GIS analyses on regulated
sites in New Jersey from data residing in NJDEP's New Jersey Environmental
Management System (NJEMS). i-MapNJ provides users the ability to perform
both NJEMS and GIS data queries and display the spatial relationships
of NJEMS sites with respect to each other and in relation to other GIS
mapped data layers.
Using the i-MapNJ Mapping Application
To launch the i-MapNJ interactive mapping application, simply click
on the Launch i-MapNJ icon in the upper right corner of this
page. i-MapNJ is best viewed with Internet Explorer 4.x or higher. If
you are unfamiliar with i-MapNJ or need more information on how to use
the application, click the Tuturials button to the right. The
tuturials describe the general workflow and components of i-MapNJ and
describe how to perform searches as well as how to use the GIS data
in the application. Within the i-MapNJ application, take advantage of
the Help and Data Descriptions for more assistance and information.
Status of i-MapNJ
The NJDEP is dedicated to making environmental information more readily
available to citizens in an easy to use application while maintaining
user confidence in the information. Therefore, i-MapNJ is a work-in-progress.
The information provided within i-MapNJ and the viewing experience will
continue to expand and improve as the NJDEP works toward providing environmental
data to our constituents.
