Green Acres Success Stories

Branch Brook Park Middle Division

Essex County, in a collaborative effort with the Branch Brook Park Alliance (BBA), the North Ward Center, Roberto Clemente League, and the Newark Boys and Girls Clubs, has completed renovations at Branch Brook Park-Middle Division. Green Acres funding was used by the County and the three nonprofits to complete this important work. Branch Brook Park was designed by the Frederick Law Olmsted firm, and is historically significant. Together, the project sponsors have successfully rehabilitated the athletic fields, restroom facilities, the stormwater management system, and field house; constructed and improved pathways, fencing, lighting, landscaping, bleachers, and other park amenities, while maintaining the historic character of the park.
