Green Acres Success Stories

Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area

Green Acres State Acquisition funds were used to acquire 18.5 Acres in Lower Township, Cape May County as an addition to the Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area. It provides critical undeveloped, upland and wetland habitat at the southern end of the Cape May Peninsula, particularly as habitat for migrating raptors and neo-tropical songbirds. The land also has great habitat restoration potential for grassland bird species.
