Johnson Park
Camden County, Cooper's Ferry Development
Corporation, the Camden Redevelopment Agency and Rutgers
University have completed a restoration of Eldridge R.
Johnson Park to its original 1930 grandeur. Camden County
and Cooper’s Ferry used Green Acres grant funding
for this project. The Johnson Park Rehabilitation has
restored an historic park in the Cooper Grant neighborhood
of Camden City. It is one of the most significant properties
in the City from an architectural, cultural and historic
perspective. Included in the rehabilitation was the restoration
of water features, concrete walks and plaza, seating,
lighting, plantings, and also improved barrier-free access
to the Walt Whitman Cultural Arts Center. |
