DEP has compiled a list of applications for exemption
from the Highlands Water Protection & Planning Act.
The list provides the status of all applications submitted
to the Division of Watershed Management for a Highlands
Applicability and Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP)
Consistency Determination. The list is sorted by Municipality
and includes the county, lot and block of where the property
is located along with the name of the property owner,
the name of the project/development, if provided, the
name of the reviewer, and the date of the decision on
the original application and the subsequent revision
if the project was modified and resubmitted after the
original decision.
The status indicates whether the project is under review,
the decision rendered or if the application was returned,
withdrawn, canceled or found Highlands not applicable
(meaning that the project was not in the Highlands area).
If a decision has been rendered, it is given as a two
part decision with the Highlands determination (exempt,
not exempt or not a major highlands development)first,
followed by the consistency determination (consistent,
inconsistent or not addressed). For example, if the decision
is Exempt-Consistent, then the project is exempt from
the Highlands Act requirements and is consistent with
the Water Quality Management Plan.
NOTE: The Division of Watershed Managment is in the process of inputting all of the Highlands Exemption Application records from our old database into the Department wide NJEMS database. Until the transfer is complete we will be unable to run a complete listing of the weekly status report as we have been doing. The last complete list generated was on June 25, 2007. The transfer is proceeding as fast as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you have any questions on a specific project please contact the Highlands review staff at the number below.
