PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

This office approves businesses involved in the collection and analysis of environmental samples. The collection and analysis would include samples of microbiology, inorganic and organic materials, radiochemistry, radon and whole effluent toxicity parameters in drinking water, waste water, soil, solid and hazardous waste, and air. The office uses standards published at N.J.A.C. 7:18, Regulations Governing the Certification of Laboratories and Environmental Measurements, for NJ-ELCP certification and the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Standard for NJ-NELAP accreditation. Local governments can use these certifications and accreditations to select businesses capable of meeting their analytical needs.
