AND SEWER SERVICE AREA MAP IN CAPE MAY COUNTY

(11/P46) TRENTON - The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public meeting to discuss Cape May County's draft sewer service area map on Wednesday, April 6, as part of a planning effort to update the Wastewater Management Plan for the county.

The existing sewer service area mapping covers the following Cape May County municipalities: Avalon, Dennis, Stone Harbor, West Cape May, West Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, Cape May Point, Cape May, North Wildwood, Wildwood, Ocean City, Sea Isle, Lower Township and Middle Township.

The Cape May County Department of Planning has prepared maps of existing sewer service areas. The mapping depicts areas that are physically connected to existing sewer service infrastructure within Cape May County or which have received DEP approvals for inclusion in the official Sewer Service Area.

The draft is subject to change in response to information provided by the public. The preliminary working draft map can be viewed at: http://www.capemaycountygov.net/Cit-e-Access/webpage.cfm?TID=5&TPID=420.

The meeting will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Avalon Community Hall, 30th Street and Avalon Avenue, in Avalon.

The DEP and Cape May County will accept comments and information related to the maps from the date of the public notice posting. Written comments can be sent to: WQM Program Docket, Division of Land Use Planning, Department of Environmental Protection, P.O. Box 420, 401 East State Street, Mail Code 401-07B, Trenton, New Jersey 08625, with a copy sent to: Leslie Gimeno, Director, Cape May County Planning Department, 4 Moore Road DN 309, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
