Clean
Boating Act Webinars
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is conducting public
listening sessions and webinars to provide information about
the Clean Boating Act (CBA, Public Law 110-288). The EPA is
developing new regulations that would affect the owners and
operators of recreational vessels (i.e., any water craft manufactured
or used primarily for pleasure). The Clean Boating Act is
an amendment of the Clean Water Act (CWA) and requires the
EPA to identify discharges incidental to the normal operation
of recreational vessels for which management practices are
reasonable and practicable to implement. These management
practices can help to limit the amount of pollution discharged
into our nation's waters.
The EPA believes a key component of this process is obtaining
input from the public, boaters, state agencies, and other
stakeholders. The listening sessions will be held in Annapolis,
MD. Webinars (online presentations with visual slides and
audio you can listen to on your computer or your phone) will
be conducted during the intervening weeks. You will have the
opportunity to ask questions live during these webinars.
