"VOCs" means volatile organic chemicals as listed
in the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations. These
are a group of purgeable organic compounds for which maximum
contaminant levels (MCLs) or maximum contaminant level goals
(MCLGs) have been established.
"Volatile organics" means those organic compounds
that can be determined quantitatively by methods utilizing
the purge and trap technique. VOCs are a subset of volatile
organics.
"Volume Percent" means, for Acute Toxicity Testing,
equal to 100 x (volume of effluent)/(volume of effluent +
volume of dilution water).
