New Jersey Forest Fire Service

Current Weather

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service maintains a system of eight automated weather stations across the state to aid Forest Firewardens in monitoring localized weather conditions. The monitoring of weather conditions on a local level helps firefighters gain critical information for the suppression of ongoing wildfires, planning for fire protection assignments (such as the manning of forest fire lookout towers), and planning for and accomplishing prescribed burning projects
