Spring Fire Season is Here!
Please be aware that spring time (through June 1st) is considered fire season across New Jersey. At this time of the year, the forest canopy is bare which allows sunlight to penetrate into the forest thus drying the vegetation on the forest floor. Wildfires can easily start in dry vegetation and be quickly spread by strong, gusty spring winds.
Please remember, 99 % of all wildfires in New Jersey are caused by people. Please follow the simple fire prevention rules as outlined on our web site.
