Trees
planted along city streets, as well as, trees that grow in
New Jersey's forest play an important role in improving the
quality of life in our state. Realizing this fact, New Jersey's
Forest Service Greenhouse is used to grow and promote trees
for any type of suitable environment.
New Jersey's Forest Service greenhouse is located at the
state's Forest Resource Education Center in Jackson, Ocean
County. The greenhouse supports numerous educational school
group tours each year. In addition, the greenhouse also supports
two main tubeling programs within the state:
In
addition to the greenhouse, a hoop house and shade house is
also located on the premises. The hoop house provides space
for the seedlings to be hardened before shipment, and the
shade house provides storage area for additional seedlings
to thrive for future use.
