New Jersey Memorial Tree Program

nj memorial tree program"Trees are the Earth's Endless Effort to Speak to Listening Heaven's"

Throughout history, people have planted trees to honor deceased or living family and friends. These living, graceful legacies not only honor the departed, they bring joy to those who live, work and play under their branches.

The New Jersey Memorial Tree Program makes it easy to continue that spirit of remembrance and generosity. A one-time contribution provides a mature shade tree to a community of your choice, or to a state park or forest. The donated tree serves to honor while benefitting the community through cooling, air and noise polllution mitigation and natural beauty.

Your contribution provides for the purchase, transportation and planting and continued care of the shade tree in your designated community. An acknowledgement card, reflecting your donation in memory of your loved one, will be sent to the donor or requested third party.

Your funeral director has the necessary form to formalize your living memorial, or you can call the New Jersey Tree Foundation at (609) 984-3856. The donation process is open to any interested family or individual.

"Marking the Past, Greeting the Generations"
The New Jersey Memorial Tree Program was created with the cooperation of the New Jersey Division of Parks and Foresty, the New Jersey Tree Foundation, the New Jersey State Funeral Director's Association, Inc., and the communities of New Jersey. This program provides for the planting of memorial shade trees across the state.
