  • Identify additional resources to assist the Bureau of Environmental Radiation with rule revisions associated with the “Agreement State Application” process.
  • Continue tracking dose metrics for diagnostic and dental radiography and computed tomography.
  • Seek improvements in business management practices through database enhancements including pursuit of an “on-line” license renewal system.
  • Host the Mid-Atlantic States Annual Conference for Radiation Control Programs in October 2007.
  • Host a meeting with New Jersey Certified Medical Physicists in March 2008.

On April 17, 2007 the Bureau activated its newly constructed application program interface (API) to populate NJEMS Site Masterfile with the Bureau’s x-ray machine source facility information. Over 8,600 facilities were successfully loaded into the DEP’s Site Masterfile Database. In addition, the API automatically populates the Site Masterfile database will all edits and new facilities that are entered into the Bureau’s “x-ray” database. These accomplishments were realized with the support of Office of Information Resource Management staff and the Bureau’s computer contract vendor.
