LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT
GENERAL INFORMATION
The
New Jersey Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility Siting
Board was effectively dissolved by the December 2, 2002 signing
of State bill A2435. At this time the Radiation Protection
Programs staff assumed the responsibilities outlined in this
bill. These responsibilities include overseeing the
proper disposal of low-level radioactive waste (LLRW) generated
with the State and maintaining a public information program
on the LLRW problem, disposal options and public involvement
in LLRW decisions.
