The following list is provided for your consideration in selecting a business to detect and evaluate radon levels in your home, business, school or day care center.  We also recommend reading the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) publication, RADON TESTING AND MITIGATION: THE BASICS.  The information in the publication should help you decide how to test for radon and/or radon progeny and interpret the result of that test.

The radon testing businesses listed have been certified by the DEP and issued a certification number that you should ask for when acquiring a business' services.  Individuals performing radon testing must also have a DEP certification number which will be different than the business' number.  Please contact the Radon Section to verify the certification number of the business and individual you hire.

As of May 13, 1991 no one may test or mitigate for radon unless they are certified by the DEP.
