LICENSING OF NARMs  
  1. NJAC 7:28-4 pertains to licensing NARMs.
  2. No person shall manufacture , produce, transfer,distribute of arrange for the distribution, sell, lease, receive, acquire, own, posses or use any naturally occuring or accelrator produced radioactive materials, including TENORM, in this State unless authorized by a specfic State license issued by the Department as provided by N.J.A.C 7:28-4.7 and 4.8, a general State licence as provided in N.J.A.C 7:28-4.5, or an exemption as provided in N.J.A.C 7:28-4.3.
  3. Typical turnaround time to process license applications is approximately 20 business days PROVIDED the application information is complete.
  4. Provided the license has not expired and it has been less than six years since a complete license application has been submitted, the licensee may renew the license by submitting a completed Radioactive Materials License Renewal Certification.
  5. Reciprocity (recognition of license from other jurisdictions) may be granted for up to 20 days in any 12 consecutive months to out of state licensees provided they fully comply with the requirements of NJAC 7:28-4.2.

In order to obtain a NJ Radioactive Materials License, a completed application must be sent to our office. You may download and print out a copy of either a License Application or a License Renewal Certification, or phone our office at (609) 984-5462 for copies of these applications.
