RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY BOARD OF EXAMINERS

A. Statutory Authority: Radiologic Technologists Act (NJSA 26:2D-24)

B. Responsibilities:

  1. To advise the Commission on Radiation Protection on issues involving radiologic technology.
  2. To establish and review educational standards and policies for radiologic technology educational programs.
  3. To develop and review licensure standards and to license applicants who meet these standards.
  4. To review and award accreditation to those radiologic technology programs that meet or exceed the educational standards and policies.
  5. To review and regulate the practice of radiologic technology.
  6. To review credentials of individuals who have applied for either a radiologic technology license or examination, but have received their education from another state or country.

C. Membership Composition: The term of office for all Governor appointed members is for three years.

Two Commission on Radiation Protection Members:
  • Julie Timins, MD
  • Mary Moore, DABR
One Department of Environmental Protection Representative:
  • Paul G. Orlando
Twelve additional members appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.

  • Eileen Maloney, RT(R) 
  • April Dixon, RT(R)
  • Jennie Lichtenberger, RT(R)(T)
Two Radiologists:
  • Leonard Zawodniak, MD
  • Donald Denny, Jr., MD
One Physician:
  • Fred R. Palace, MD
One Dentist:
  • Catherine Boos, DMD
One Podiatrist:
  • Donald Manager, DPM
One Hospital Administrator:
  • Vacant
Two Public Members:
  • Vacancy
    Paul Cooper
One Health Physicist:
  • Wesley Van Pelt, Ph.D, CHP

D. MEETING:

Board meetings are public and all are welcome to attend. Meetings are usually held in February, May, July, and November.  If you would like meeting dates, please click here.
