Notice of Rule Proposal
Underground Storage Tanks, N.J.A.C. 7:14B, and Water Pollution Control Act, N.J.A.C. 7:14

PUBLIC NOTICE
Take notice that the NJ Department of Environmental Protection is proposing new rules and amendments affecting the requirements applicable to Underground Storage Tanks.  The proposed new rules and amendments relate to secondary containment; operator training, designation, and duties; and violations and penalties.  The proposed rules apply only to those tanks that contain any quantity of hazardous substances, any quantity of motor fuel stored for commercial use, and all heating oil tanks of 2,001 gallons or more for on-site consumption at businesses or commercial operations. 

The proposal is scheduled to be published in the New Jersey Register dated May 4, 2015.  The proposal may be viewed or downloaded from the Department's web page at http://www.nj.gov/dep/rules/proposals/20150504a.pdf or through LexisNexis’s free public access to the New Jersey Register at www.lexisnexis.com/njoal.

Written comments may be submitted electronically by July 3, 2015 at www.nj.gov/dep/rules/comments,  or in hard copy to:
