The Rockingham State Historic Site is a recreated farmstead that contains a Mansion House, Children's Museum and gardens. The property adjoins the D&R Canal towpath in Somerset County and provides a combined natural and cultural experience for visitors.
"History to Go" is a traveling trunk program designed as a "hands-on" learning opportunity for groups to prepare to come to Rockingham or to have Rockingham come to them.
There is a $20.00 borrowing fee for the program, which must be picked up at the Rockingham Historic site.
Highlights
- The program enables groups to see and use some of the more popular items from our Children's Museum in the convenience of their own classrooms or civic centers.
- The basic program consists of a Teachers Guide, a video about Rockingham, children's period dress, accessories, hats, personal items, games, and craft ideas.
- The program is aligned with the state's Core Curriculum Standards.
