The nature program at Parvin State Park, located in Salem County, is designed to inform and increase people's interests in, and appreciation of, the out-of-doors. Various facets of the program are designed to develop each participant's powers of observation and cultivate a sense of stewardship, through such activities as guided walks, slide and video programs, nature crafts, outdoor sketching, aquatic studies, birding seminars and tree identification.
Highlights
A variety of adaptable, multi-sensory activities, including guided interpretive walks and a Nature Scavenger Hunt, are offered for nearly all age groups. (Programs are limited to 30 participants per activity.)
The craft activities utilize recyclable and natural products that are readily available at the park, at home, and at school.
These no-cost programs are designed to stimulate a sense of fun and discovery with all ages.
