The Community Right to Know Annual Report

New Jersey was one of the first states in the nation to pass a Right to Know law. It provides citizens with information regarding the manufacture, use and storage of hazardous chemicals at manufacturing and service industries throughout the state. Secondary Teachers may find the material useful as it can be applied to health, biology, chemistry, and other subject areas.

Highlights

  • This report can be used as a supplement for teachers in science and lab activities when teaching about hazardous substances. Materials are a good resource for secondary students doing research and science projects.

  • It lists environmental release, waste transfer, and chemical data for approximately 600 manufacturing facilities and for more than 600 toxic chemicals.

  • It provides chemical inventory data on a wide variety of hazardous substances in New Jersey.

Target Audience(s)
General public, educators of students in grades 9-12
