Experience the environment first-hand, year-round at New Jersey's state parks, forests, wildlife management areas, historical sites, educational and recreational facilities, and natural areas. This section describes the programs, facilities and unique features offered at certain locations for groups and individuals to enjoy.
New Jersey's residents can appreciate the state's rich natural heritage - wetlands, beaches, rivers, lakes, pinelands, forests, plateaus and numerous species of plants and wildlife. DEP's interpretive and education staff offer a variety of hands-on, interactive opportunities that enable participants of all ages to experience the natural world and how people interact with it. How did residents live long ago? How does the state serve as steward to the forests, wildlife and waterways under its protection? What critical environmental issues are the DEP and other environmental organizations concerned with? Learn the answers to these and other questions during a visit.
Programs are designed for families, individuals, classes, youth groups and organizations.
