The DEP's Division of Parks and Forestry volunteer program is designed to encourage effective and efficient volunteer and park staff partnerships while developing, improving and maintaining park facilities. Volunteers can participate in several park activities including interpretation and education, public information, maintenance, trails, gardening, crafts, and acting as campground hosts. Position needs vary among sites.
Highlights
Volunteers learn new skills while meeting different people and tackling various challenges. They gain valuable work experience while making concrete contributions to natural resource protection and learning about the natural environment.
Recognition ceremonies are held every April to honor those individuals and organizations that volunteer. Certificates and gifts are based upon hours of service.
