Washington Crossing State Park

Washington Crossing State Park in Mercer County, offers many educational opportunities in a unique setting. Several miles of trails weave their way through the park's fields, evergreen plantations and mixed hardwood forests. While the Interpretive Center focuses on the park's natural environment through exhibits, programs and assorted literature, the Visitor Center and Johnson Ferry House feature exhibits, programs and artifacts that highlight the struggles and lives of men and women during the late 18th century, including the American Revolution. These facilities are open year-round, Wednesdays through Sundays. The Interpretive Center is open from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday and from 12:00 noon - 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Visitor Center Museum is open 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are required for programs.

  • A listing is available from the Interpretive Center of over 30 K-12 outdoor education programs offered in the areas of ecology, conservation, survival and adventure education.


  • Park visitors can request the facility's free quarterly newsletter, "Nature's Grapevine", which features a schedule of programs, park news, and natural history articles.


  • Park facilities also include four picnic areas with tables and grills, two playgrounds and an open-air theater used for summer performances.
