SRWM Brownfields Brownfields Development Area Initiative

North Camden Brownfields Development Area

Alternate Format: Adobe Acrobat [pdf 292 Kb]

The NJDEP has designated four properties along the Delaware River as a Brownfield Development Area to provide the support needed to successfully remediate and reuse a significantly underutilized area to the north of the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden. This North Camden community has tremendous potential given its direct access to the Delaware River and Philadelphia. The overall plan for this site is a development for mixed-use, including residential, retail and light commercial. In addition, a greenway is planned along the Delaware River that would essentially connect the northern sections of Camden to the entertainment features on the waterfront in South Camden.
