| EXAMPLES OF ELIGIBLE
HDSRF PROJECT COSTS |
- All reasonable costs for equipment, work, and services for investigation/remediation,
including soil and ground water sampling, monitoring well installation,
disposal of contaminated soil, ground water treatment systems, etc.
- Innocent Party Grants - retroactive costs for PA, SI, and RI activities
conducted under NJDEP oversight [i.e. Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
or Administrative Consent Order (ACO), Industrial Site Recovery Act
(ISRA) or the Underground Storage Tank (UST) rules] following an innocent
party status determination
- Department oversight costs
- Limited legal fees incurred specifically for the actual remediation
of an environmental insult (i.e., obtaining required offsite access)
as determined by the NJDEP and NJEDA
- Leaking underground storage tank closure activities
| EXAMPLES OF INELIGIBLE HDSRF PROJECT COSTS |
- Investigation, removal and/or disposal of asbestos-containing materials
and lead paint
- Investigation, removal and/or disposal of building/construction debris
(unless directly associated with remediation as determined by the NJDEP)
- Remedial activities that do not comply with the Technical
Requirements for Site Remediation, N.J.A.C.7:26E
- Applicant’s time spent in planning, administering or supervising
the remediation
- Preparation of the HDSRF application and administration of the funds
- Legal fees/costs not directly associated with remediation as determined
by the NJDEP
- NJEDA application processing fees
- Non-leaking underground or aboveground storage tank closure activities
- Contamination linked to building interiors
