[SRRA]: LSRP Hot Topics Training - The RI Deadline Extension and More

The DEP Site Remediation Program is hosting Hot Topics Training on three important topics on February 6th: Overview of the Remedial Investigation (RI) Extension Legislation, Case Inventory Document (CID) Form Changes, and Transitioning a Remedial Funding Source (RFS) into Financial Assurance (FA)

Presenters:
Barry Frasco, Assistant Director of Hazardous Site Science;
Elaine DeWan, Chief of the Bureau of Information Systems;
and Karen Jentis, Supervisor of the Remediation Funding Source Unit

Program Description:

* An overview of the recent legislation that allows for the extension of the deadline for completing remedial investigations of certain sites will be provided. The statutory criteria that need to be met to qualify for the extension will be discussed, as well as available Department resources.

* An overview of the new Case Inventory Document (CID) that has been re-formatted in anticipation of the launch of Online Services for submittal of electronic documents. New data fields and identifiers have been included, which will allow the CID information to be migrated into NJDEP's data management system for better tracking. This is a good opportunity to become familiar with the new electronic format and have questions answered.

* The process of transitioning a remediation funding source (RFS) to financial assurance (FA) will be described. Financial assurance is required when a site is issued a remedial action permit that includes an engineering control.

Each topic will include a question and answer period. This course is being submitted to the Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board for 'Regulatory' Continuing Education Credits. Credits are only offered to participants that attend in person.
