[SRRA]: NJDEP Site Remediation & Waste Management Program announces updated Remediation Funding Source and Financial Assurance information and guidance

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (Department) Site Remediation & Waste Management Program announces the availability of the following documents: Remediation Fund Source Detailed Remediation Cost Estimate Guidance, Remediation Funding Source Exemption Guidance Document, and Active Remediation Funding Source Data Miner Report. In addition, the Department announces the latest version of the Remediation Cost Review and RFS-FA form and instructions.

The Detailed Remediation Cost Estimate Guidance consists of:

• Checklist for the Development of Detailed Remediation Cost Estimates for Remediation Funding Sources;
• Example Detailed Remediation Cost Estimate Worksheet; and
• Frequently Asked Questions About Detailed Remediation Cost Estimates

The Remediation Funding Source Exemption Guidance Document is intended to clearly define the eligibility requirements and the application process when applying for a remediation funding source exemption.

The Active Remediation Funding Source Data Miner Report will enable the user to retrieve site specific information pertaining to remediation funding source. It will allow the user to determine when annual remediation funding source requirements are due and provide information on 1% surcharge fees and payments. (www13.state.nj.us/DataMiner)

The Remediation Cost Review and RFS-FA form and instructions were modified to incorporate additional surrogate language, provide information on remediation funding source exemptions and to incorporate additional minor revisions.
