[SRRA]: New Jersey Department of Children and Families readopts N.J.A.C. 3A:52, Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers

The New Jersey Department of Children and Families (NJDCF) readopted the Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers ("Manual"), with amendments, effective March 6, 2017. It should be noted that the Manual was formerly codified as N.J.A.C. 10:122 and was recodified as N.J.A.C. 3A:52, effective January 3, 2017.

Please note, pursuant to the Manual, N.J.A.C. 3A:52-5.3(i)5, the applicant or facility operator must provide documentation of water testing for lead and copper to NJDCF, when the water is supplied by a Community Water System. There are no changes for child care centers that are supplied by an on-site potable well. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's (NJDEP) Bureau of Safe Drinking Water and the NJDCF will be posting additional guidance, such as sampling protocol, submission of testing results, and mitigation measures if elevated levels are detected, on their respective web pages: www.nj.gov/dep/watersupply/pw_child.html and www.nj.gov/dcf/providers/licensing/.
