Use of these Online Services is currently not mandatory. Pursuant to the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites [N.J.A.C. 7:26C-1.6(c)], use of these Online Services will become mandatory 90 days after the Department publishes a notice in the New Jersey Register stating that the Online Services are available. Until such time, either the Online Service or a paper Form may be submitted.

Items to be aware of:

  1. For CDN, Owner/Operators can link an Incident to an existing case, but should NOT do so if:

    1. The person responsible for the Incident is different from the existing case; or
    2. Any remediation timeframes for the incident will not meet the existing case's remediation timeframes.
  2. A completed and scanned 'Authorization Form for Confirmed Discharge Notice (CDN) or General Information Notice (GIN) Submissions through NJDEP Online' form is required to complete the services, and is also available on the forms page.
  3. CDN and GIN online services where the preparer did not choose an existing Facility (program interest) or Responsible Party will receive a status of Pending DEP approval and will be reviewed by DEP to determine if the Submission can be matched to an existing facility or responsible party. The acknowledgement email will go out after the matching process is completed and either the service is matched to a facility or a new Program Interest (PI) ID is created for the facility.
