[SRRA]: New "In Situ Remediation: Design Considerations and Performance Monitoring Technical Guidance Document" posted and training scheduled for November 14, 2017

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (Department) would like to announce the availability of the new "In Situ Remediation: Design Considerations and Performance Monitoring Technical Guidance Document" (October 2017) and training scheduled for November 14, 2017.

This document provides LSRPs and other interested parties with information on site characterization concerns, selected design considerations, and how to develop performance monitoring plans associated with in situ remedial actions used for treating both contaminated ground water and soil. It also provides related guidance on discharge to ground water (DGW) proposals required by the NJPDES Permit-by-Rule, other approvals that may be needed to implement in situ remediation work, interplay with or transition to the Remedial Action Permit (RAP) phase of remediation, and related reporting requirements.

This technical guidance document is now available on SRWMP's Guidance Library at www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/.

Training on this document will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM to noon (check-in at 8:30 AM) in the DEP Public Hearing Room, 401 E. State Street, Trenton.

Continuing Education Credits (CECs):
The Department will apply to the SRPL Board for 2 continuing education credits (1 regulatory credit and 1 technical credit) for this course. CECs will be available for in-person attendance (cannot miss more than 45 minutes of the program) and for Webinar participants (must be logged in for entire program and answer 3 out of 4 webinar quiz questions).

The slides and resulting audio will be posted on the DEP training web page shortly after the presentation for future reference.
