NEW JERSEY WATERSHED AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
Watershed Management Area 16
Cape May
My name is Stuart Cobb, and I am the 2007-2008 Watershed Ambassador for New Jersey's Watershed Management Area 16 (WMA 16) as part of the AmeriCorps New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program. I am based out of Cape May Courthouse at the Cape May County Administration Building, Planning Department.
I graduated from Trenton State College, now the College of New Jersey, with a B.A. in Communication Studies in May 2003. After exploring interests in information systems, the music industry, and a stint as a landscaper, I have decided the environmental field is where I belong. I love to be outside, no matter what the weather is like, especially to fish and golf. Although Ewing Township is my home, I have spent many years in Cape May County visiting family. I know how great this area is and am excited to be a part of keeping it clean and beautiful.
I am available to make presentations to schools as well as interested community groups to educate people about the importance of watersheds and what they can do to help ensure that pollutants are kept out of their watersheds. In addition to presentations, I can also bring those who are interested out into their local waterways and teach them how to do biological and visual assessments to learn more about their water quality. The information gathered is then used by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection to gauge the effects of nonpoint source pollution in your area.
Please do not hesitate to contact me. I am a free resource and I can cater to people of all ages. Let's work together to help keep Cape May a beautiful place to live for generations to come.
