NEW JERSEY WATERSHED AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
Watershed Management Area 18
Lower Delaware
My name is Cara Margetich and I am the AmeriCorps New Jersey Watershed Ambassador for 2008-2009. I focus on the Lower Delaware region of New Jersey or Watershed Management Area 18 (WMA 18). I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Sociology. Even though I studied Sociology, I have always had a strong interest in the environment. I also grew up around this area so the protection of our watershed is very important to me.
I am very excited to educate our community about protecting our watershed. I am available to make presentations at schools and to community groups of all ages. I am able to educate students and citizens about watersheds, point and nonpoint source pollution, watershed management and methods of improving watershed quality. I am also available to provide training in biological and visual monitoring in our waterways.
I am a free resource to the New Jersey community and look forward to teaching groups about the importance of watershed management. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions and concerns or to schedule a presentation. I look forward to hearing from you.
