The
following examination applications to operate
water and/or wastewater systems are available:

7:10A-1.3
Examining board
- A
Board of Examiners is hereby established
to advise and assist the Department in the
preparation and administration of examinations
conducted under the authority of the Act.
- The
Board shall be comprised of certain personnel
of the Department, and actively engaged licensed
operators having at least five years experience
in the operation of a system in the State
of New Jersey and possessing a current Class
4 license for one or more systems at the
time of appointment. The members of the Board
shall be appointed and may be reappointed
by the Commissioner and shall:
- Be
appointed for a three year term and
shall serve until the appointment of
a successor;
- Be
comprised of three representatives
from the water works field and three
representatives from the wastewater
field and three representatives from
the Department; and
- Be
subject to removal at the discretion
of the Commissioner.
- Five
members of the Board shall constitute a quorum
of the Board for conducting business.
- No compensation
shall be paid for the services of the members
of the Board but they shall be reimbursed for
their necessary expenses incurred in performing
the services herein prescribed.
- The Board shall
keep minutes of its meetings and it shall transmit
its recommendations through the Director, General
Services to the Commissioner.
- The
current members of the Board shall continue
as members of the Board until the completion
of their terms, when they may be reappointed.

7:10A-1.4 Examinations
- Examinations
for licenses to operate Systems shall be
given at least twice annually and at such
other times as the Department may deem necessary.
They shall be prepared, conducted, and scored
in accordance with the Department's standard
operating procedures with the advice of the
Board.
- The
examinations may consist of written questions,
or oral questions, or a combination thereof.
- The
Board shall establish examination review
procedures which are fair to the applicants
and which preserve the integrity of the examinations.
