Safe Drinking Water Construction Permits – Northern
Section under the Bureau
of Water System and Well Permitting, is responsible for reviewing
public water system construction permit applications
within the northern region of the State. The

The Safe Drinking Water Construction Permits – Northern
Section reviews permit applications related to
water distribution system modifications and issuance
or denial of permits. This includes:
- Water
Main Extensions
- Storage and Pumping Stations
Facilities evaluation
- Implementation
of the Highlands Water Protection
and Planning Act as it relates to construction of new expansion
of existing public water systems
In addition,
the section reviews permit applications related
to modifications or construction of new sources
and new water treatment facilities. This includes:
- Review
of proposals for new water systems
- Review
of new or modification to existing sources
of water supply including construction standards
of wells or surface water intakes
- Review
of new or modification to existing water treatment
facilities evaluations
