Meet Our Co-Chair, Bob Schuster
DEP Division of Water Monitoring, Standards
& Pesticide ControlBob Schuster is the Chief of DEP’s Bureau of Marine Water Monitoring which is responsible for oversight of all of the state’s marine water quality monitoring including shellfish classification for the National Shellfish Sanitation Program, ambient nutrient monitoring, real-time continuous monitoring, remote sensing, beach testing, and special projects including storm water monitoring and microbial source tracking. He has over 25 years in the collection, chemical, biological, and microbial analysis, and data assessment of both marine and fresh waters.

Meet Our Co-Chair, Heather Heckathorn
USGS/NJ Water Science CenterHeather Heckathorn is the Water Quality Specialist for the USGS NJ Water Science Center where she has worked since 2000. Her areas of expertise include collecting and quality assuring water quality data as well as conducting interpretive studies. Recently her focus has included working cooperatively with state and university collaborators to develop new projects to study HABs in surface waters and PFAS in streams and groundwater.
