Considine Sworn In As DOBI Commissioner

TRENTON – State Supreme Court Justice Jaynee LaVecchia administered the oath of office to the new Commissioner of the Department of Banking and Insurance, Tom Considine, today at a ceremony at the Mary G. Roebling Building.

Considine took the oath in front of family, department staff, friends, industry representatives, legislators and other government officials. The invocation was delivered by Rev. Msgr. Kevin Hanbury, superintendent of schools, Archdiocese of Newark. Assemblyman Gary Schaer delivered the Benediction.

“I am humbled and honored by this appointment,” said Considine. “It is a privilege to serve the people of New Jersey. I promise to carry out my duties – protecting the state’s consumers and promoting the growth and stability of the industries we regulate – fairly, conscientiously and to the best of my ability. I will work to make DOBI the best department it can possibly be.”
