Update! Building upon the work done by DRBC staff which is described on this web page, the National Weather Service has developed a tool that is now available to the public to access important weather information. As discussed at recent Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) Flood Advisory Committee meetings, an automated application has been developed by commission staff that retrieves daily river forecasts from eight stations in the National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS). The program retrieves AHPS data from the Internet and compares forecasted stages to station-specific Flood Action Levels (please note that these levels are below flood stage). If the forecasted stages exceed the station-specific Flood Action Level, the program generates and sends an e-mail warning to a List Server. By subscribing to the List Server, individuals can get e-mail warnings about NWS-forecasted flood events on the main stem Delaware River, the Lehigh River, and the Schuylkill River.
To subscribe to this free service, visit:

To get on the List Server, you will need to sign up for a Yahoo ID and password (if you do not have one already). For best coverage, sign up from multiple locations wherever you have e-mail access: Home ~ Work ~ PDA ~ Cell Phones.
