A Multi-Jurisdictional Flood Mitigation Plan for the Non-Tidal N.J. Section of the Delaware River Basin

Flood Insurance Claims in the Planning Area

The following GIS maps depict FEMA-designated repetitive and severe repetitive loss properties in the Delaware River Basin.  The maps graphically show the number and/or dollar amount of repetitive loss properties and severe repetitive loss properties in each county and municipality in the study planning area. Please note that this analysis does not represent uninsured flood damage.

FEMA is the source of the information, which is subject to change. The analysis considered NFIP closed claims from January 1, 1978 through August 31, 2006. A property is considered a repetitive loss property by FEMA when there are two or more losses reported which were paid more than $1,000 for each loss; the two losses must be within 10 years of each other and be at least 10 days apart. A property is considered a severe repetitive loss property by FEMA either when there are at least four losses each exceeding $5000 or when there are two or more losses where the building payments exceed the property value.

Claims were mapped and summaries compiled using Lat/Long coordinate points provided by FEMA. Currently, each municipality is verifying the compiled information. Sussex County has no severe repetitive loss properties within the study area. Additionally, if a municipality is not listed below, no repetitive loss properties were identified within its borders.
