WEST
OF HUDSON WATERSHED WEATHER
STATION PROGRAM
NOAA AND NYC DEP
New
York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) owns a total of
26 weather stations in the New York Watershed. Twenty-one of these stations
are located in a 1,600 mile area known as the West of Hudson (WOH) Watershed.
On June 1, 2004, an agreement
was made between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
and NYC DEP to share data collected by these weather stations to enhance weather
and flood forecasts in the region. Learn more details about this program in
