Conference for Middle and High School Students Focusing on
Research and Activities in the Delaware River Watershed

6-8, 2001
Tuscarora Inn, Mt Bethel, Pennsylvania
Students and teachers studying aspects of the Delaware River Watershed shared research and stewardship initiatives on local watersheds as they networkd and participated in educational seminars with other students and professionals during the three-day event.
The
2001 conference included a "Bike and Boat" Experience on the Lehigh River
conducted by Wildlands Conservancy, keynote speakers, student presentations,
watershed discussions, creative activities, and special seminars relating
to leadership, mapping, chemistry, and biology. Special teacher workshops
also were scheduled during the conference.
Schools sent teams of approximately six students to represent their watershed. The students conducted a 20-minute formal presentation and prepared an exhibit of their watershed project. One or more designated adults from the school district were in attendance and responsible for students during the conference.
The host school for this year's summit was Easton Area High School; Student Coordinator: Tung-To Lam; Teachers: Robin Reese, Rich Bell, and Bob Prior.
