Highlights of the 2006 Delaware River Sojourn: "A Long Drink of Water"

The theme for the 2006 Delaware River Sojourn is a Long Drink of Water, which recognizes the river's vital role in supplying drinking water to millions of people, including two of America's largest cities. The Delaware is the longest un-dammed river east of the Mississippi, stretching 330 miles from the confluence of its East and West branches in Hancock, N.Y. to the mouth of the Delaware Bay where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. The river, indeed offers a Long Drink of Water.

Please note that this itinerary is still subject to change; adjustments to daily plans can be made even after the Sojourn is underway due to weather and river conditions. If the river flows are determined to be too high for safe boating, there will be alternative activities offered, with planned meals and camping still provided. Detailed daily plans, including information about meals, programs, campsites, and driving directions will be sent upon registration and also can be viewed on the Sojourn web site.
