Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers is a great web site for Pennsylvania watershed association leaders and members to visit. Here you will find resource information for watershed groups, the PA Watersheds Data System (an online database for imputing water quality data from monitoring projects), and a calendar of events. You can also participate in one of two listservs, which connects you with other watershed association members to share information and questions. |
![]() Watershed Partnership for New Jersey |
The Watershed Partnership for New Jersey (WPNJ) is a statewide network of watershed education and outreach education representatives from more than 40 nonprofit, federal, state, county and local agencies, educational institutions, and private industry. WPNJ objectives include establishing a watershed resources network, encouraging community watershed involvement, and strengthening alliances and partnerships among watershed groups. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is looking for groups of citizens to serve on tributary action teams that will develop strategies for reducing water pollution. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a section on its web site devoted to watershed information. Here you will find links to a discussion forum on watersheds, a watershed information network, adopt your watershed, a catalog of watershed groups, and much more! Also on this site is a catalog of federal funding opportunities for watershed protection and the new Watershed Central, which provides information to help groups implement effective watershed management programs. |

The River Network is a national organization dedicated to supporting grassroots river and watershed conservation groups. This web site contains useful information on watersheds, a resource library, funding sources, a calendar of river events, state by state clean water act information, as well as a national directory of watershed associations, including Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. |

World Water Monitoring Day (WWMD) is an international program that promotes education and stewardship of our world water resources. This annual outreach event engages people of all ages to conduct basic monitoring of their local waterbodies; results can then be shared around the world through the WWMD web site. While the official WWMD occurs on September 18, 2009, monitoring can take place at any time through December 31. EPA’s Watershed Academy is pleased to sponsor free, monthly webcast seminars/training sessions and other training courses for watershed practitioners from around the globe. During the webcasts, trainees simultaneously log on to the web and/or participate by phone conference lines in live training conducted by expert instructors. The Philadelphia Water Department and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary are looking for volunteers for the Philadelphia Storm Drain Marking Project to help glue down medallions with this logo on the street in front of storm drains across the region. Created by Congress in 1984, NFWF directs public conservation dollars to the most pressing environmental needs and matches those investments with private funds. | The Pennsylvania Water Resources Education Network (WREN) is a program of the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania Citizen Education Fund to help protect and manage Pennsylvania's water resources through education and policy making.
