Abstract:
Easter Seals New Jersey, in partnership with the Keansburg Board of Education and Saint Ann School, will operate two 21st CCLC sites. The center will offer an after-school program at Bolger Middle School and Keansburg High School, a summer camp, including a "Bridge Program" for incoming high school freshman, an outreach program, and a parent involvement program. Easter Seals will collaborate with a diverse group of local collaborators, including Rutgers 4-H, the American Littoral Society, School-Based Services, and Monmouth County Parks. Students will receive educational remediation in math and language arts, and enrichment in the areas of science, arts, dance, culture, and technology. Homework help will be available to every child daily. Students will participate in various recreational activities including organized sports, yoga, gardening, etc. High school students will receive job training skills, and serve as mentors and program assistants at the Middle School site.
